Warner Bros. has pushed the release of Mortal Kombat 2 from October to May 15, 2026, but fans of the classic fighting game franchise don’t have to wait that long to get a new perspective on its iconic characters and moves. The visual history book Mortal Kombat: Flawless Victory releases on Oct. 21, offering more than 300 pages of concept sketches, illustrations, and renders from the game’s history, along with interviews with NetherRealm Studios developers.
The coffee table book by Ian Flynn digs into how Mortal Kombat has evolved since 1992 and the process of developing the series’ environments, moves, and characters. Publisher Insight Editions gave Polygon an exclusive preview of four of the two-page spreads, depicting Raiden, Johnny Cage, and Sonya Blade from early concept sketches to Mortal Kombat 11.
Mortal Kombat: Flawless Victory arrives on Oct. 21 with a retail price of $50. You can pre-order it from your local bookstore or online.
